Ginninderry Homestead – An Elegant Wedding Venue

Nestled in the heart of Canberra, Ginninderry Homestead is a breathtaking Georgian estate that offers an idyllic setting for weddings. With its rich history and stunning architecture, our venue provides a perfect blend of elegance and romance, ensuring your special day is truly unforgettable.

 In History

In 1989 a large paddock just across the ACT boarder and adjacent to Ginninderra Falls was purchased by two people who had a dream.  Retirement was on the horizon for Joe and Sue Sciberras and farm hosting was an enticement to develop their bare paddock into a beautiful property. Ginninderry Park was born.

Following many years of careful planning, the purpose-built Georgian style Homestead was completed in late 2001 and opened as an operational Bed and Breakfast six months later.

As the Homestead took shape, so too did the four acres of surrounding gardens which are bordered by Ginninderra Creek. Careful planning and much hard work has seen manicured lawns, formal garden beds, feature trees, garden structures and many statues gradually come to being. 

After commencing smaller scale garden weddings in 2005 using largely temporary infrastructure, thoughts were put to the establishment of a more permanent venue solution that would complement the existing gardens and give couples a flexible space in which to create their dream wedding.

Built largely by the family, ‘The Grand’ Function Centre opened in late 2009.

Since its opening the venue has hosted hundreds of weddings, each as unique as the couple exchanging their vows. 

These days, youngest daughter Amelia runs the business and property with the help of her family. We love what we do and would be thrilled to host your very special wedding day on our beautiful estate!
